I love juicing, and I also love my juice recipes! I like to keep things simple when juicing, and most of my recipes contain only one or two ingredients.
Some people like to have a medley of fruits in their juices, but when you mix in too many ingredients, you tend to mix the flavors as well, which means that you can’t taste the individual juices. I prefer to have one core ingredient as in the recipes below, and then add ginger to give some zing, or lemon/lime to add a twist.
At the end of the day, the kind of juices you make is entirely up to your own preferences, just like the juicer you own is up to your needs and likes.
Let’s get straight into the recipes!
Watermelon Juice
Watermelon juice is one of the most refreshing juices ever! It’s quite sweet and tastes love. Watermelon contains lycopene, a very powerful antioxidant. It’s also high in vitamin C and Beta Carotene.

Grapefruit Juice
Grapefruit juice is quite cheap, considering how much juice you get from just one single grapefruit! This juice is a great source of vitamin c.
Orange Juice
Freshly squeezed orange juice is a classic, and it’s my treat to myself on the weekends! OJ contains heaps of Vitamin C, as well as potassium, thiamine and folate.
Carrot Juice
Carrot juice is actually much sweeter than you’d think and is a great source of trace minerals and Vitamins A and K.
Orange, Carrot and Ginger Juice
Mixing up oranges and carrots leads to a nice flavourful drink. While ginger adds a nice kick! Children probably won’t like ginger but this drink is a great “pick me up”. Ginger has powerful antioxidant properties and is very soothing if you have a cold or sore throat.
Green Juice
My favorite green juice recipe consists of apples, cucumbers, spinach and kale. The more spinach and kale in the juice, the stronger it is. Starting out, you might wish to have a higher percentage of apples and cucumbers, but later you’ll want to increase the amount of greens. Green leafy vegetables are incredibly healthy and great sources of antioxidants, trace minerals, vitamins A, B, C, E and K.
Pineapple Juice
Pineapple juice is one of my favorite juices for when I’m feeling that “tropical, holiday” mood. It’s also a great juice for serving up at parties, for some reason, it’s really festive!

Hi, I'm Alannah Harris, a certified clinical nutritionist from Melbourne, Florida. I'm very serious about leading a healthy lifestyle, and for me this involves preparing food at home. Juicing is also a very big part of my life, and I am constantly testing out new juicers. I believe that health comes from within, and we need to do our bit to get enough nutrients naturally.
