Where to Buy The All American Pressure Cooker/Canner At The Best Price?

I am a bargain hunter and I think it’s a good thing to buy things at a discount! Even if you’re a millionaire, why not save some money when you buy things?!

Personally, I have found the best prices to be online rather than at department stores. I keep my eye out on various websites and I have yet to find a department store price beat an online store price.

These canners have been made for almost a century now and they are still made in Wisconsin as they have always been. They are a true classic and generations of families have used them.

Review Of All American Pressure Cookers

These pressure cookers are the best in the market. Yes, you have to pay a bit extra but in return you get quality that lasts for decades. There are All American canners that have been handed from one generation to another.

They are made of full metal, with no plastic gaskets or small parts. The metal-on-metal make means that these last forever. If you do ever have to replace anything then parts are easily available.

The pressure cookers offer three options for pressure settings – 5psi, 10 psi and 15 psi. This is a change from most standard pressure cookers which offer only the 10 psi and 15 psi settings. This wider choice means you can cook more recipes and no longer have to worry about adjusting cook times to fit the unique recipe.

According to the company website, here are some of the features of the all american canners.

First of all, the most important quality is the unique metal-to-metal sealing which no other company offers. This metal-on-metal feature means that there are no pesky plastic parts to bother about and the pressure cookers last much longer than other models. In addition, this sealing system means that the canners are always easy to close and to open.

Another unique feature is that these canners and cookers are made in the USA. This is rare these days since most items are manufactured overseas.

Other features include:

  • Extra heavy-duty aluminum cast which leads to faster and more even heating
  • Bakelite top handle – which always stays cool
  • Safety control valve and overpressure plug – 2 automatic vents to provide extra safety
  • Easy to clean
  • Double thickness on edges and areas which are heavily used

Which All American Pressure Cooker/Canner To Use?

The All American canners come in a range of different sizes. You will need to consider how much canning and cooking you will do in order to select the model. The different sizes are:

  • All American Pressure Cooker 910 – 10.5 quart capacity, which translates to 7 pint jars or 4 quart jars, for smaller batches of home canning.
  • All American Pressure Cooker 915 - 15 quart capacity, which translates to 10 pint jars or 7 quart jars.
  • All American Pressure Cooker Canner 921 – 21.5 quart capacity, which translates to 19 pint jars or 7 quart jars
  • All American Pressure Cooker Canner 925 – 25 quart capacity, which translates to19 pint or 7 quart jars for canning.
  • All American Pressure Canner 930 – 30 quart capacity, which translates to 19 pint or 14 quart jars.
  • All American Pressure Canner 941 – 41.5 quart capacity which translates to 32 pint jars or 19 quart jars.

The most popular models are actually the larger sizes. This is not surprising considering that most people use these canners only for canning and not cooking. It would take a pretty large family to cook so much food! I suppose the 10 quart model is a good size if you mean to use this for cooking also, but then you would not make as many cans in one batch. Still that is a good option which means you don’t need a seperate pressure cooker.

In addition, there are certain limitations you need to keep in mind if you want to purchase this as a canner. It should not be used to cook certain foods such as cabbage and tomatoes, or you should be careful when cooking with these foods.

Also, keep in mind that you cannot use these on a glass top or flat top stove since manufacturers claim they may actually break your stove top! These beasts are heavy indeed. The smallest weights 15 lbs.

So, Should You Actually Buy These Pressure Canners?

The verdict in my opinion is yes, but only if you plan on doing some serious canning. If you are going to use them as a pressure cooker only, then I think that the Fagor pressure cooker ranges offer much better value for money. They are not metal-on-metal, but they are incredibly durable and cost a lot less.

At this price range, the All American canner is definitely not an impulse buy! At least, it wasn’t for me but then I tend to do a lot of research before I buy anything. If you are enthusiastic about canning then I highly recommend you get one, or if you can afford the price and want only the best quality pressure cooker.
